The Miss & Mr. America of the Belly Dance 2001 ContestREPORTING TIME: 4:00 SHARP! Saturday, August 25th. for a Rehearsal. Escorts are not allowed backstage and must purchase their own tickets. COSTUME REQUIREMENTS: Please be in costume for the Presentation of the Contestants to the audience, Ceremony and for the Finale and Presentation of Contest Winners and Trophies. Be sure to wear cover-ups in the auditorium and the lobby. MUSIC: All Contestants will provide their own music on quality cassettes. Solo Contestants must adhere to a 5-minute routine, Duo Teams 6-minutes, and Troupes 7-minutes. The Judges will penalize those contestants who exceed their time limits. Contestants must begin their routines within 10 seconds of the commencement of their music. Performance cassettes should be sent to Magaña 15 days before contest. Send on a card 2 paragraphs printed or typewritten for Introduction, Brief Background and your philosophy of the Belly Dance. AWARDS: To the WINNERS of the "Miss & Mr. America of the Belly Dance Contest: $200 cash. $100 Gift Certificate at Magaña's Bazaar Boutique.
